The effectiveness of communicative language approach in enhancing English speaking skills of EFL adult learners in Egypt

This research aims at investigating the effectiveness of using communicative activities in developing English speaking ability Egyptian college students. The study adopted quasi-experimental pretest- posttest control group design. A 40 first year students were selected from a private university Cairo Academic 2016- 2017 (20 experimental and 20 group). Students taught by means proposed program current study; while received regular instruction. equipment materials consisted pre-posttest administered to both groups before after treatment an analytic rubric for assessment. Quantitative data collected statistically analyzed validate hypotheses. Results analysis revealed that outperformed their counterparts overall proficiency. There significant differences between mean scores on favor post- test scores.
